Our food manufacturing client has gone through some very exciting changes in the last 12 months and is continuing to grow and develop under it’s dynamic management team.  A leader in private label supply to high street retailers.  This is a superb role where you can really make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing a budget of £15m for the purchase of ingredients and packaging materials
• Responsible for managing and reporting Purchase Price Variance – weekly and monthly
• Monitor commodity price changes and provide an early warning on change in prices and impact on margins
• Develop effective relationships with key suppliers to ensure;
- Purchase at most competitive price
- Ensure quality of products supplied meets our business requirements
- Collaborative working to minimise total supply chain costs
- Product innovation to drive sales
- Ensure continuity of supply
- Reduce working capital
• Consolidate the existing supplier base
• Support the annual budget process by ensuring standard cost for all parts are accurate.
• Support cost centre managers in reducing overhead costs via buying goods and services at a lower price – overhead budget is £3m.
• Work closely with the Planner and Materials Scheduler to ensure there are no disruptions in the manufacturing process caused by material supply or quality.

The ideal candidate - essential requirements
• Qualified – Professional Buying Qualification
• 3-5 years experience working as a Procurement Professional within the Food Industry
• Experience of working with standard costs and managing purchase price variance
• Experience of buying commodities and packaging – particularly sweet/chocolate/milk/sugar ingredients.
• Experience of working in / with new product development
• Knowledge of  the key suppliers
• Can do attitude and credible
• Customer focused – ie: willing to provide an outstanding service to their customer base
• Track record of delivering cost reduction via a focused buying strategy
• Experience of co-ordinating / managing tenders


The Package:

QA Inspector

Location: Derby

Salary: 18000-25000

Working within a Meat cutting plant, so the working environment is chilled and you will be expected to be handling meat. Dealing with product inspections, taste panel cooking and intake of Meat delivery inspections.

 

Due diligence audits, HACCP audits and GMP audits.

 

Process investigations and review complaints investigations. Ensuring that employees are following legislation and are meeting the expectations of a busy meat manufacturing process plant.

 

The candidate:

 

Must be PC literate with MS Office experience.  Need to be excellent communicators both written and oral.  You will be used to dealing with people at all levels, with the ability to influence and ensure that company standards are maintained.  Committed to making a difference and wanting to develop.

Snr HR Advisor

Location: Northampton

Salary: 25000-30000

To provide full support to Managers within specified regions, assist with the management of HR to support business operations and strategic goals.  Responsible for employee relations, performance management, employee involvement and general trouble-shooting. 

Assist managers in developing interventions, performance improvement plans and strategies to promote positive employee relations and a positive working environment.

Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed and administered properly.  Follow up to ensure employee relations issues are resolved promptly. Provide training and guidance to Managers in maintaining a proactive approach towards potential employee relations issues.

Respond to D&G issues including making initial contact, pulling together appropriate information, interviewing, preparing responses or back-up information, and attending hearings.

Travel to offices within assigned regions, educating Managers about employee relations, troubleshooting potential problem areas.  Attend monthly meetings and awards events. 

Provide guidance to employees and leadership regarding leave of absence administration, reinstatement and management of sickness absence using the Bradford factor.  Facilitate HR related training, identify future leaders via succession planning.  

The ideal candidate:

Three to five years of proven HR experience, multi-site service industry preferred.   Preferably CIPD qualified or working towards.  Must be analytical, have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects whilst meeting deadlines. 

Problem solving, diplomacy and ability to use independent judgment in considering the impact of decisions is essential.  Knowledge of HR Select preferred.
