Our client is a forward thinking, growing food manufacturer. This is a NEW role where you will be reporting directly to the MD.
The role:
This is a hands-on role, where you will be responsible for bringing all the requirements of the Operations side of the business together.
The main purpose of this role is to direct the site Production team to produce customer orders in a timely, efficient, safe and cost effective manner. The team is well established and motivated making this a rewarding role. Other responsibilities include:
- Man Management, Training & Development and HR & Recruitment - ensuring that all employees work to optimum effect.
- Quality / BRC / H&S - setting and maintaining the standards.
- CAPEX – dealing with installations and plans, forward thinking to work towards future implementations required.
- Project managing new product launches as and when required.
- Fully support new product and process development, in order to grow the business, cooperating with technical and NPD teams to fully achieve quality parameters / customer specification.
- Relevant budgetary control, P&L – forecasting and presenting to MD.
The ideal candidate:
This role is not for the faint hearted, you will have a strong Food Manufacturing and commercial operations background, with a positive team management style. An excellent communicator at all levels, you should be used to problem solving and driving a business forward. The team is already committed and hardworking. You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Experience of working within a similar post within a Food Manufacturing environment.
- Full understanding of financials and P&L, commercially aware and astute.
- Experienced at managing CAPEX and introducing new lines and improving systems.
- Strong, positive team leadership style, used to leading from the front and motivating teams to achieve.
- Experience of HR / KPI’s and developing performance review systems, job specs etc.
- IT skills – MS office & ideally Sage.
